How We Serve

Canby Kiwanis Club provides funds and volunteers for many civic, service and charitable projects. These include:

    • Food baskets to more than 400 families and toys for more than 1,100 children each December
    • The Kiddie Capers Parade
    • Major support for 4H/FFA through the Junior Livestock Auction at County Fair
    • Providing free clothes and household items from our Thrift Store to needy families
    • Boy Scouts & Cub Scouts
    • Scholarships to high school seniors
    • High school graduation parties
    • Sponsored service clubs at Canby's high school and middle school (Key Club & Builders Club)
    • The Terrific Kids program for elementary school students
    • Youth sports and music programs
    • Blood drives
    • Doernbecher Children’s Cancer Program
    • Kiwanis International’s Eliminate program for worldwide elimination of maternal and neonatal tetanus
    • Bicycle rodeos
    • The Child Abuse Summit training program
    • Kiwanis Mount Hood Camp scholarships
    • Ronald McDonald House, The Dougy Center, and many, many more

Current ongoing and planned fundraising activities include:
    • Sales from our Thrift Store, open six days a week. Members are encouraged to volunteer in the store.
    • Collecting donations for our annual Food & Toy Drive
    • Selling Ford Mustang raffle tickets for the Kiwanis Doernbecher Childrens’ Cancer Program
