Community Comes Together to Care and Share
The 2016 Kiwanis Canby Community Food & Toy Drive is history. This massive community effort provided food boxes for 385 Canby families and Christmas toys for 1,050 children.
Special thanks to some of our many volunteers: Canby Boy Scouts & Cub Scouts, Baker Prairie Middle School Builders Club, Canby High School Key Club, Canby High School Leadership Classes, Canby Elementary Schools, Canby Rotary Club, Canby Rodeo Association, area churches, Bridging Cultures, The Canby Center, Canby Public Library, Canby Adult Center, Canby Fire, and the many people from Canby Now who responded to a plea for drivers.
Because of you, many families will have a brighter Christmas!
Canby Kiwanis Club has distributed food and toys to families in need at Christmas for more than 60 years, but the drive has become a community-wide event. Local individuals, businesses, service organizations such as Rotary, and churches donate food, toys, and money, collect items, and even come to help pack toys and food boxes. By coming together, we are able to help more people and ensure that no family goes without during this special time of year.
Who is eligible: This program serves residents who live within the boundaries of the Canby School District and who are not receiving assistance from another holiday program. People who live alone and adults without children are eligible for food baskets; we also provide toys for children 0-18 years old.
Special thanks to the Clackamas County Fair staff for hosting us at the fairgrounds for the second year. They are generous with their help and make us feel welcome.
Special thanks to the 50+ wonderful businesses below who set out donation barrels. We couldn't do this without their help!
